Shenzhen remains warm and pleasant in November. As the forefront of China’s reform and opening up, the city has hosted consecutive global high-tech events: the 24th China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) and the 2022 China Marine Economy Expo (CMEE). Chasing Innovation showcased its industry-grade underwater robots (Chasing M2 Pro, Chasing M2, Chasing M2 Pro Max), consumer-grade underwater drones (Chasing DORY, Chasing GLADIUS MINI S), smart fishing companion Chasing F1 Pro, and pool cleaning robot Chasing CM600 at both exhibitions, attracting widespread attention.

[Technological Reform Drives Innovation; Scientific and Technological Innovation Fuels Development]

From November 15 to 19, 2022, the 24th CHTF was held at the Shenzhen Futian Convention & Exhibition Center, co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, National Intellectual Property Administration, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government.
This year’s CHTF featured offline participation from 41 countries and international organizations, 5,671 exhibitors, an exhibition area of 406,000 square meters, 148 forum activities, and attracted over 210,000 visitors and more than 190 media outlets for on-site coverage.
Centered on promoting high-quality development, Chasing introduced new technologies, new materials, and high-end equipment to the public in the field of scientific and technological innovation. The exhibition area set up two water scene displays: one for underwater travel photography in consumer scenarios, and the other for the application of professional underwater robots in operational scenarios such as fishery breeding, hull inspection, and underwater emergency rescue.
Chasing F1 Pro is Chasing’s newly developed and launched smart fishing companion, equipped with a 1080P full HD starlight-level lens. Its rotatable camera supports a wide field of view (27.5° upward, 75° downward, 360° left/right), capturing real-time underwater highlights in high definition—even clear images in low-light night conditions. The CHASING GO2 APP supports live streaming and one-click sharing of photos/videos, with a built-in removable and expandable SD card slot to perfectly record fishing trips.
Chasing CM600 is a pool cleaning robot suitable for private pools, public pools, commercial pools, and other scenarios. It features a world-leading deep-sea technology underwater dedicated brushless motor for stable and reliable power; an Anti-Resonance algorithm for intelligent path planning, automatic obstacle avoidance, and 脱困;and patented Gecko-Climb wall-climbing and lateral translation technology to automatically identify pool walls, steps, slopes, and waterlines during cleaning. It is the top choice for intelligent pool cleaning equipment.
Industry-grade underwater robots also received an enthusiastic response from attendees. Chasing M2 Pro Max, as the latest flagship industry product, was the focus of Chasing Innovation’s promotion. With a maximum diving depth of 200 meters and a working radius of 400 meters, it supports simultaneous integration of 5 accessories and can connect to a shore-based power supply system for 24/7 uninterrupted operation. It can be equipped with imaging sonar for rapid target detection in harsh water environments; ranging sonar to improve detection accuracy; a USBL underwater positioning system to provide real-time detection positions and record trajectories; and a mechanical arm (claw clip, pull ring, or sediment sampler) to meet diverse operational scenarios.
Chasing M2 Pro Max can be applied to hull and terminal inspection, offshore wind power detection and maintenance, fishery breeding observation, underwater emergency rescue, scientific research and environmental protection, and other industries and scenarios. As a global high-tech event, this CHTF not only served as an important platform for Chasing to showcase new technologies and products, build brand image, and expand domestic and international markets but also an excellent opportunity to gain insight into industry trends and new information.

[Technological Innovation Empowers Shared Blue Ocean]

On November 24, 2022, the China Marine Economy Expo opened at the Shenzhen Futian Convention & Exhibition Center. As a key barometer of China’s marine economy, General Secretary Xi Jinping outlined the strategic deployment of “developing the marine economy, protecting the marine ecological environment, and accelerating the construction of a maritime power” in the report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, positioning it as an important part of accelerating the construction of a new development pattern and striving to promote high-quality development. China has emerged with a number of new technologies, products, and achievements in frontier fields such as marine port shipping, deep-sea mineral exploration, and marine perception. As a national high-tech enterprise, Chasing Innovation was invited to participate in the CMEE and showcased its latest R&D products at the event.
The ocean is a strategic hub for high-quality development, and “strengthening marine scientific and technological innovation and gathering marine science and technology talents” is a current development priority. Since its establishment in 2016, Chasing Innovation has produced 6 generations of products and completed 4 rounds of financing, with an expected revenue growth rate of approximately 100% over the next 5 years. Overseas business accounts for about 90% of total revenue, with products sold to more than 100 countries and regions. The company actively implements the requirement of “building a competitive, innovative, and influential marine industry,” embodying the vitality and motivation of “striving for strength toward the sea.”
Chen Rongyou, Director of Marketing at Chasing Innovation, was interviewed by Shenzhen TV at the exhibition. He believes that underwater robots or smart hardware represent a trillion-yuan industry, but current products cannot yet meet market demand. Meanwhile, thanks to China’s complete and mature supply chain system, domestic brands offer much higher cost performance than foreign manufacturers, enabling the company’s products to sail overseas as national brands and gain a foothold in the global market.

[Winning Multiple Outstanding Awards]

Known as “China’s No.1 Science and Technology Exhibition,” CHTF selects a batch of outstanding innovative products with high scientific and technological content each year for centralized promotion and display in the Excellent Innovation Exhibition Area. The CHTF “Excellent Product Award” is rigorously reviewed and comprehensively evaluated by experts organized by relevant CHTF departments, who also conduct on-site assessments of shortlisted products and projects before finalizing the winners. This year, 5,671 exhibitors presented 8,667 projects for exhibition and trade at the physical event.
Chasing Innovation’s Chasing M2 Pro Max (industry-grade underwater robot) and Chasing CM600 (pool cleaning robot) won the Excellent Product Award at this year’s CHTF, marking the second consecutive year Chasing has claimed awards at the fair. Standing out from nearly 10,000 exhibited products to win the “Excellent Product Award” demonstrates the continuous improvement of Chasing’s scientific research and innovation atmosphere, with its technological achievements gaining increasing recognition from exhibitions, industry experts, society, and the market.
Compared with previous editions, the 2022 CMEE focused on the theme of “Technological Innovation Empowers Shared Blue Ocean,” with greater emphasis on application scenarios of marine technology products, the transfer, transformation, and industrialization of marine scientific and technological achievements, its role in global investment promotion, and its platform function in serving the maritime power strategy.
