June 8, 2023 marks the 15th World Oceans Day and the 16th National Ocean Awareness Day, with this year’s theme: "Protect Marine Ecosystems for Harmony Between Humans and Nature."
On this special day, non-profit organizations, schools, and people from all walks of life gathered to collectively focus on the urgency and importance of marine conservation. Through various events and environmental education campaigns, we can pool ideas, share experiences and best practices, and unite efforts to protect our oceans.
Young people, in particular, are the hope for the future and the driving force of change. By participating in World Oceans Day activities, they can personally experience the significance of environmental protection and learn how to take action to safeguard marine ecosystems. This not only raises their environmental awareness but also inspires their initiative, making them active participants and leaders in environmental causes.
To call on more people to care about marine conservation, the Sanya Municipal Government, Sanya Municipal Bureau of Investment Promotion, Sanya Municipal Bureau of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports, Hainan Academy of Ocean and Fisheries Sciences, and other organizations launched marine conservation activities for the Sanya Economic Circle on the occasion of World Oceans Day. At the event site, the independently developed CHASING P100 and CHASING P200 underwater drones by CHASING INNOVATION completed the full underwater live broadcast of coral conservation and planting.
Coral reefs are a vital component of marine ecosystems—they not only provide habitats and the foundation of food chains but also play a key role in stabilizing the marine environment. However, amid worsening climate change, overfishing, water pollution, and other issues, coral reefs face severe threats. Therefore, protecting and restoring coral reef ecosystems has become especially critical.
Through technological innovation and application, CHASING INNOVATION plays an important role in marine science and environmental protection. The CHASING P-series underwater drones are equipped with 8 vector-layout thrusters, with anti-sand motors delivering powerful propulsion. The standard battery offers up to 4 hours of endurance, and batteries can be flexibly replaced or AC power directly connected, supporting long-duration underwater operations.
The CHASING P-series is also fitted with high-definition anti-shake cameras and sensor technology, enabling smooth shooting in underwater environments, accurate reproduction of underwater conditions, and task execution. It boasts high maneuverability and control capabilities, allowing flexible operation in the complex terrain of coral reefs. Via underwater live broadcast, we showcased the entire process to a global audience. Viewers could clearly see professional technicians operating on the seabed and carefully transplanting coral seedlings to target locations on damaged reefs to help corals regrow and spread. Meanwhile, audiences deeply felt the urgency and importance of coral conservation.
On the other hand, CHASING’s underwater drones work alongside professional technicians for subsea operations, adding an extra layer of safety for divers. Through real-time video transmission, ground personnel can monitor divers’ underwater status and surrounding environments, providing necessary assistance and support.
Audiences witnessed coral planting work firsthand through the "eyes" of the CHASING P100 and P200 underwater drones. This not only offered everyone an immersive underwater adventure but also further raised public awareness and attention to marine conservation. On this World Oceans Day, we thank all those involved in marine conservation—their efforts give us hope and motivate us to take more action. Let us join hands to contribute to marine protection and work together to build a better and more sustainable future!
