Nutecmar is an innovative and technology-driven drone company in Brazil, dedicated to developing environment and underwater-focused technical solutions through remote inspection systems (such as ROVs).

Case Background:

In November 2023, NCA Tech collaborated with Nutecmar to launch the first CHASING ROV Operator Course. Participants had the opportunity to learn the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for the safe and efficient operation of ROVs. The course covered various work areas, including scientific research, underwater structure inspection, diver support, and marine life exploration.

Case Challenges:

  1. Participants had no prior exposure to underwater drones and lacked proficiency in their operation.
  2. Other brands of ROVs offered poor user experience with incomplete integration, requiring third-party accessories such as game controllers for control, resulting in complicated operation methods.
  3. Insufficient degrees of freedom in other brands’ ROVs led to one-sided learning outcomes.

Case Process

Preparation:

  • CHASING P-series underwater drones
  • Waterproof screen-equipped remote controller

Course Implementation:

NCA Tech first organized participants to study ROV theoretical knowledge indoors, followed by learning basic ROV operations and operational standards in indoor pools. Fundamental knowledge such as compass identification and usage was also covered.
Subsequently, NCA Tech arranged outdoor practical ROV courses at docks and other locations. During hands-on training, participants honed their ROV control skills in real water environments, with instructors explaining and deepening operational key points and techniques.
Finally, the course was held at an aquarium, where participants could observe various ROV movements in real time through clear water tanks and learn more advanced operational skills. At the aquarium, participants also experienced the improved image quality brought by the ROV’s 4K camera combined with underwater image optimization technology.
